New Google Ads Changes: What’s Out, What’s In, and What It Means for You
This month, we have two important Google Ads updates that may impact how your clinic’s campaigns run. Don’t worry, our PPC team has already taken care of everything behind the scenes to make sure your ads stay compliant and continue bringing in new patient leads.
Here’s what’s new:
1. Call-Only Ads Are Being Replaced
Effective October 3, 2025
Google has retired “Call-Only Ads” — the ad type that showed your phone number and encouraged people to call your clinic directly. These are now being replaced with Call Assets, which appear as part of your regular search ads and still let people easily call you.
What this means for your clinic:
If your ads are focused on driving phone calls and patient inquiries, you’ll still receive calls as usual. We’ve updated your campaigns to make sure your phone number shows correctly and all call tracking continues seamlessly.
What we’re doing:
- All Practice Promotions accounts now use Call Assets automatically.
- We’re reviewing and turning off any old Call-Only Ads to ensure smooth campaign performance.

2. New Google Policy on Pricing Transparency
Effective October 28, 2025
Google is introducing stricter rules around pricing and promotional offers to ensure all ads are honest and clear. This means ads must clearly explain any special pricing or offers, no vague terms or missing details.
What this means for your clinic:
If you promote something like a “New Patient Special,” the ad and your landing page both need to clearly state what’s included, how long the offer lasts, and any conditions.
What we’re doing:
- All ads we write already meet HIPAA and privacy standards.
- We’re reviewing landing pages to ensure pricing is transparent and compliant, without hurting your message or conversion rates.
